On September 9, 2018, at 10:36 a.m., I wrote this, exactly with the thirteen laughing emojis:
Spell HAPPY!
G-A-N-D-A--K-A???
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Then, hours later, I wrote a very different entry:
One way to get results is to work hard, that is, putting in actions and a lot of efforts to be able to get what you want. But wait... there is another one way.
What is an inspired action? That is, doing the things that you like to do. When you can’t get yourself do efforted actions for you to get results, get out of it and do somethings that inspires you. Me? I exercise, I sing (trying hard!), paikutin ang muwebles sa bahay, makipagkwentuhan, etc. You can not get the desired results if you’re tired, if you’re bored, if you’re angry. If you’re bringing negativity to your life, then you will not be able to get the good results you’re looking for. This is what I believe. So, what do you do?
1. Pray
2. Act on it
3. Be positive
4. Be inspired
5. Be grateful
6. Be surprised
You may not have what you exactly want, but you will “have it”!
Believe! Faith is believing! Be inspired!
I really have no idea what prompted you to write the first entry.
You made it look like HAPPY is synonymous with GANDA KA.
Oo nga naman. I still believe that to this day. When you are happy, you are beautiful. Sometimes, or maybe most of the time, happiness really is as simple as remembering that you're beautiful, too. 😅
You knew it! That's the secret to our happiness. 😉
Thank you, Old Me, for leaving evidence that you were having fun, too.
September 9, 2018 looked like a productive day for you. You weren't writing about anything particularly dramatic or profound. You were simply being your usual self—thinking, writing, laughing, and reminding yourself how to feel better.
And then, in just a matter of hours, apparently, you gave yourself a seminar. 😂
Whatever your reason for writing this does not matter anymore. You already knew that when forcing yourself to do something isn't working, sometimes the answer isn't to force harder. Sometimes, you need to do something that inspires you first.
Sing. Exercise. Rearrange the furniture. Talk to someone. Pray. Be grateful. Do something that brings a little life back into you.
You didn't call it self-care then.
You simply called it “inspired action.”
And now, years later, I think you were onto something.
Again, thank you, Old Me, for reminding me that not every day has to be profound.
Sometimes happiness really is as simple as remembering that you are beautiful, doing something that inspires you, and allowing yourself to have a little fun.
And yes… apparently, you could spell HAPPY.
G-A-N-D-A-K-A. 😂
