While We Can

Life is full of uncertainties.

“So, let’s do it while we can,” I firmly told myself… once again!
I will be the first to admit that I am not a good singer, nor a good keyboard player. But I am deeply grateful for the talents God gave me, no matter how “so-so” they might seem right now. Baka gumaling pa! Habang may buhay, may pag-asa. πŸ˜„
There is a praise song that says: “Give and it will come back to you, good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over…” I find myself interpreting those words from a slightly different perspective these days. πŸ˜‰
Instead of focusing on the worries of not being able to do something perfectly, I just want to nurture what I can do and what I already havethe gifts of time, talent, and treasure—and share them with family, friends and others as my way of giving back to God. ❤️πŸ™πŸΌ

Nurturing the gifts of time and talent for the online praise and worship

However, at this specific point in time, I have to admit that maybe I was not yet ready to serve directly in the community. God’s timing will always be perfect.

πŸ“‹ Postscript — August 2026
I originally wrote this in the middle of the pandemic, during a season when I felt emotionally unready to return and serve in the community—even years before that. I did step up to play the keyboard and sing for community’s online worship sessions (only audio used) but I still didn’t come back.
It finally happened in 2026.
God’s timing really is perfect.

Every now and then, I open an old journal and find a little piece of myself I had forgotten. πŸ‚Some make me laugh. Some make me wonder. Some remind me of how far I’ve come. These pages are not simply a collection of old journal entries. They are little pieces of a journey—thoughts I once wrote down, stories I may have forgotten, and moments that meant something to me at the time. And sometimes, the woman I am today has something to say to the woman I was then. So you may find a little note from Present Lelen along the way—a reflection, a little context, or perhaps just a gentle “I understand now.” I’m keeping these memories here not because they’re profound, but because they were once part of my story.

Dear old me… what were you thinking? πŸ€”

🚢🏻‍♀️Take a little walk with me through the years.

You never know what we might find there.
