As was my usual practice, I showed my “creations” to my children.
They liked them.
I told myself, “Buti na lang laging gusto nila.”
But somewhere at the back of my mind was another question: “Totoo kaya?” 😅
That was the usual me—always doubting my own skills.
Yeye’s reply to one of the pictures I sent through the family's group chat was almost always the same: “Mine!”
One day, she took one of the bags from the cabinet and asked permission to use it. Of course, I was happy!
She even asked me to take a picture of her with it. I think she posted it on her social media stories, too. I’m not entirely sure anymore. 😅
Ningning borrowed another one on a different day.
Her choice of bags has always leaned toward the bigger ones. But this time, she said something that made me smile: “Gusto ko ipagmalaki.”
At that time, she was pregnant with her first baby after seven years of marriage, and I was accompanying her to her check-ups.
Then there was the third bag.
That one was my favorite at the time—and became my go-to bag. I don’t think I ever took a picture of myself with it. 😅 Looking at the three now, though, it’s pretty obvious that its style didn’t quite match the taste of my two daughters. 😂
But these bags stayed.
They are still sitting in my cabinet. I rarely use them now, but whenever I see them, I still think of them as some of my special creations.
Not because they were perfect, nor because they were particularly fashionable. But because they were part of the time when I was finding my way back to crocheting.
And who knows?
Maybe one day, my granddaughters will open that cabinet and choose one for themselves.
I just hope that when that day comes, these bags will still be in style. 😄
