The Day We Forgot Where We Parked

Just an ordinary day in Makati.

We parked in a per-hour parking building. Finished our transaction in another building, then headed back.

We paid for the parking.

Then I asked…

“Anong floor tayo nag-park?”

Silence.

😳

We couldn’t remember.

So we started our parking-floor adventure.

P4… wala.

P5… wala.

“P7 kaya?”

Wala.

“P3 yata!”

Wala pa rin.

Then we realized…

“Hindi natin nadaanan ang P6!”

Ayun!!!

After what felt like a mini treasure hunt, we finally found the car.

Feeling victorious, we drove to the exit.

The machine said, “Insert ticket.”

We did.

The machine immediately spit it back out.

Expired.

Apparently, we had exceeded the 15-minute grace period after paying… by six minutes.

Those six minutes were spent looking for the car we couldn’t remember where we parked.

So yes…

We paid for parking.

Twice.

Lesson learned?

KKLP.

Every now and then, I open an old journal and find a little piece of myself I had forgotten. πŸ‚Some make me laugh. Some make me wonder. Some remind me of how far I’ve come. These pages are not simply a collection of old journal entries. They are little pieces of a journey—thoughts I once wrote down, stories I may have forgotten, and moments that meant something to me at the time. And sometimes, the woman I am today has something to say to the woman I was then. So you may find a little note from Present Lelen along the way—a reflection, a little context, or perhaps just a gentle “I understand now.” I’m keeping these memories here not because they’re profound, but because they were once part of my story.

Dear old me… what were you thinking? πŸ€”

🚢🏻‍♀️Take a little walk with me through the years.

You never know what we might find there.
